One of the most exciting experiences of my life, is driving up (north) or down (south) the California Coastal Highway 1. Driving slowly, with the windows down listening to “Oldies and Goodies” rock and roll music! No billboards or any other visual pollution... just the natural splendor of perhaps the prettiest meeting of land, sky, and water in the world for nearly one thousand, west coast highway miles. These visual experiences, along with California’s nation-leading “trend activities and social consciousness” (represented in my works by concentrics) are captured in my historic CD Highway 1 Series. In 2017, I also added with pastel colors Santa Catalina as a subset of my CD work. When visiting my California Family in Newport Beach, an “always visual highlight” is the beautiful pastel Santa Catalina Pacific sunsets.
